My mom and I went to the Falls Church Farmers Market today and were impressed by the size and selection available. I go to Eastern Market once or twice per month, and have been to Alexandria's Farmers Market a number of times (especially in the winter, when a lot of the other markets are closed), so I'm not usually impressed by the size of a farmers market. But Falls Church's was much larger than I expected, and had what seemed like a number of equally good local-ish farm stands from Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
I bought some great veggie foccacia, a croissant, homemade tagliatelle with vodka sauce, some homemade doggy biscuits, several extraordinary chocolate truffles, homemade blackberry sorbet, and my mom bought fresh corn, peaches, and some other fruits and vegetables.
